Safety & Fleet

Zero crashes. Zero out-of-service violations.

“We always insure that we maintain high safety standards, health, and the well being of our employees to ensure they complete the task at hand for our clients.” That is not a poster in the break room. It is two years of DOT roadside inspections without a single truck taken off the road.

Safety is a hiring policy, not a poster

Commercial roofing is dangerous work. Hot bitumen. Open flame on torch-applied membrane. Forty-foot ladders. Sloped single-ply in weather. The companies that survive four generations are the ones that never had the accident that ends them.

Sixty-one years, and the federal inspectors have never taken one of our trucks off the road.

What this means when you prequalify us

Institutional, healthcare and campus owners screen contractors on safety before they ever look at price. Two years of clean inspections and an active DOT status clear that gate without a conversation.

Lloyd Roofing is a member of the National Roofing Contractors Association, the Carolinas Roofing & Sheet Metal Contractors Association, and Carolinas AGC. Our South Carolina roofing licenses carry no project-value limit.

On your property

  • Our own sheet metal mechanics do the detail work — no unknown subcontractors on your roof
  • We minimize fumes, dust, debris and noise, and we keep the building dry while the work happens
  • We walk you through each step so you can make an educated decision about your building
Common questions

Safety, answered.

What is Lloyd Roofing's safety record?
In two years of DOT roadside inspections, not one Lloyd Roofing truck or driver has been placed out of service, and we have not had a reportable crash. Nationally, better than one in five commercial vehicles inspected is placed out of service.
Is Lloyd Roofing insured?
Yes. Certificates of general liability and workers' compensation insurance are available on request. Call the Greenwood office and we will send them to your prequalification contact.
Why does a roofing contractor's driving record matter?
Because the crew, the kettle, the crane and every square foot of material arrive on your property by truck. A contractor whose trucks never get pulled off the road is a contractor who maintains his equipment and his people — and on institutional and healthcare bid packages, that is part of prequalification.
What safety training do Lloyd Roofing crews have?
Commercial roofing means hot bitumen, open flame on torch-applied membrane, and work at height on slick membrane. We maintain high safety standards, health, and the well being of our employees so they can complete the task at hand for our clients. Ask the office for our current safety program documentation.
Is Lloyd Roofing licensed?
Yes. We hold South Carolina contractor license CLG10175 — SR5 specialty roofing and GR5 general roofing, both unlimited by project value.
